Planning baby on Work Permit.

Hello All,

We are here on Work permit for last 1 yr and have it till end of next yr. My wife is now pregnant. I am wondering will the baby be a Canadian Citizen if he is born in Canada? Also, I heard that babies born for parents on Workpermit would not get a SIN number immediately which is mandatory to get a Canadian Passport. We are Indian citizens, so I enquired with Indian embassy and there is an option for baby to get a Indian passport even he is born in Canada.
But my question is i am planning to apply PR after 1 yr under CEC. Then what will happen to the baby, will they consider him as Indian citizen or canadian citizen as he is born in canada?
Please advice.

1. Unless you have diplomatic status, the child will be a Canadian citizen.
2. SIN is not mandatory for a passport.
3. Canadian citizen.
