We are currently in the process of sponsoring my wife to come to Vancouver. My question is when she arrives what should her plan be looking for work? She currently works as a marketing director at a finance company. Her background is in marketing and finance and she has a degree in Business Administration from the University of The Philippines. She would like a job similar to the field she works in the Philippines. Do we need to get her education credentials assessed? Aside from networking, and online job searches what other resources are out there for her job search? Are there any immigrant resource centres in Vancouver that any of you would recommend? She has a pretty good job but she understands she'll have to start over again and perhaps go back to school. She's making a big sacrifice leaving a good life in the Philippines so we can be together. The Canadian job market is tough but even tougher for new immigrants. I just want to help make her transition to Canadian life as smooth as possible.
