Hi,
I am sponsoring my wife's PR and wanted to know whether it is okay if the place of birth is different on the passport and the birth certificate.
The birth certificate, school & college leaving certificate mention 'Kirkee' (Cantonment Area in Pune) as place of birth but her passport says 'Pune'.

Also, is it okay if the current residential address is different from the address on the passport?

Thanks

Residential/current address not a problem.

For passport - really a question of how common this is in India, but you can probably get away with adding a letter of explanation that Kirkee is a village (?) in metro area of Pune and passport office used that. More credible if it's the type of case where the metro area absorbed smaller municipalities and so like a name change no longer exists. (I say probably okay because practice in this regard does vary by country - I mean I'm not sure Canada is consistent in this regard either, USA often doesn't specify state, as far as I'm aware)
