As soon as the moratorium's lifted, I'm going to work as a food counter attendant. But I'm not from the Philippines.

Here are my thoughts on the moratorium. Jason Kenney's is unnecessarily punishing the innocent along with a few guilty people who abuse the system. All I know about the moratorium right now is that it won't be lifted until AT LEAST the end of next week due to the busy House of Commons schedule. There's a good chance they'll lift it by the end of the month (in the next 2 - 3 weeks) but I'm not sure. It's easy to believe that it will be lifted in the future when it's a long time away. But as the date draws closer, you begin to have your doubts that it will end that time.

Also, I totally lost track of LMO processing times. I haven't been keeping up with processing times since my LMO was approved prior to this moratorium. LMOs were taking between 12 and 16 weeks on average with 13 - 14 being the most common. However, the processing times could significantly increase after this moratorium is lifted. There will be a backlog of new LMO applications for food service jobs. Over 2 months worth of LMO applications will come surging all at once. The longer they wait to lift this moratorium, the longer processing times will be when they finally lift it. That's unless of course, they change the rules so that many previously eligible employers become ineligible for LMOs.

If by "early next week", you're referring to Monday/Tuesday, I'll have to say there's a good chance that won't happen. Tuesday is when they'll announce their decision concerning the Northern Gateway Pipeline. As for the rest of the week (except Friday), all MPs will be working double overtime in the House of Commons. This is their last week, so the TFW program will take a back seat to whatever they'll discuss in the House this week.

However, I get your point. I hope that it will be lifted as soon as humanly possible. The sooner it's lifted the better. I'd really like for them to prove me wrong by lifting it before this upcoming Friday.
