Hi, Working on our citizenship applications and unsure of whether its needed to pull entry exit records from the CBSA before we do this. Specifically, I am concerned about day trips to the USA from Canada, crossing by land, when I don't have a perfect log of when that happened. On the CBSA website, it basically says, don't do put in a request for records if you're applying for citizenship! But many folks on here seem to have done it. I had heard one could pull entry/exits via NEXUS, but can't seem to find a way to do that. There does seem to be an online way to pull from a passport, but this seems to be based on USA I94 forms, and doesn't apply to us (we're US citizens).

We're well clear of the physical presence requirements. Probably in excess of 300 days of buffer for me, and more like 400 days of buffer for my partner. In both our our cases, I have pretty good records of when we crossed the USA border. I don't think there are any extended visits that went unaccounted for, but it's possible a day trip to Bellingham, or a trip to the post office in Point Roberts, WA was missed. None of these are overnighter trips, just same day in and outs.

Its it worth trying to track down records for our application? Or is a trip or two across the border that might be missing from our list not going to be a problem when we have such a large buffer of time for the residency requirement.

It was similar situation to us. We lived 30 min from the Point Roberts border and went there for gas from time to time.
We did get the I94 forms (cos we weren't not US citizens). But since there was some inconsistance, we ended up going through google location records on those questionable days and gas receipts and old emails for possible over night trips. We tried our best and filled in all the day trips on the calculator.

Anyway, everything went smooth hubby got his citizenship. So we do not know if it will be OK to be casual and not get all the records. We also had about 6 months of buffer because we were too busy and didn't have time to sit down and fill in the applicatin.

I guess you need someone who did the opposite to see if you need those records or not.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm looking at gas, postal outlet, various receipts to track it. Again, I'm certain on all the overnight trips. and I'm FAIRLY positive we've accounted for most of the Point Roberts or Blaine trips. It might be missing a trip or two, but then again, we're in the range of a year for our buffer, so it just depends on if that kind of commission flags us as being fraudulent in some way.
