Physical Passport submission after approval of PR

Hey Guys.

I have seen that a lot of people on the forum have been sending their physical passport to IRCC on here...I might be a bit clueless since we haven’t applied yet (almost there for applying, probably this weekend)...but why are people having to send their passport? Is it so IRCC can add something for PR onto it? Is this passport part only for inland applicants or also Outland applicants? Just thinking you can’t really plan for any travelling if IRCC takes your passport....

The principal applicant (i.e., person been sponsored) and any dependants are required to provide only photocopies of their travel passport (outland or inland).

Refer the Spousal Sponsorship Checklist 2018v...........IDENTITY DOCUMENTS, TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND PASSPORTS section.

IRCC will only request the physical travel passport at end of the process for PR visa issuance.

Oh no. So they do take it....for visa issuance..is there a deadline for how long after you are approved, that you must send through your physical passport?

When IRCC request for your physical travel passport......the message sent will provide a timeline to send the passport
