Not sure how many people this would affect, but just an experience of mine.
I live in rural Saskatchewan. There is a local post office where I have to pick up my mail because the town is too small to have door-to-door delivery. When I applied for citizenship I put both my physical street address and my mailing address.
My application was returned through the mail with my physical street address. The poost office here in town wrote on the envelope "this is not your mailing address. Please correct this. If it is not it will be sent back to sender."
I immediately called CIC to make sure they use my mailing address.
So, my warning to anyone living in a rural area that has only a box number make sure that CIC uses your correct mailing address, unless you have more sympathetic post office workers in your town. I spoke with the post office and explained the situation and only got a blank stare back.
