Hi,

I am applying to renew my PR card. It says on the checklist (IMM5644E) that I have to enclose a copy of one primary I.D. When I am going through the text and advice on what to enclose it says that the photocopy has to be certified by an authorized person. I guess I'm a little confused and just want to confirm that I don't just enclose the photocopy alone.

Also so far, all I can see is that I am paying the online 50$ fee for a PR renewal. Does this sound accurate? I can seem to find anywhere else that it says I have to pay more.

Any advice is extremely welcome, thanks :)

If your submitting passport copy then no need for attestation provided if it meets the following .

  • your valid passport or travel document or
  • the passport or travel document you had when you became a permanent resident (including the passport page that was stamped when you arrived in Canada and became a permanent resident)

  • The copy should show:
    • the document type and number;
    • issue and expiry date;
    • your name;
    • your photo; and
    • your date of birth
The fee is 50 cad
