I have a dumb question. I am in US and applied for PR in buffalo office. After getting married, i am in the process of amending my application. I remember last time to get my photo taken here in US was a challenge as everybody here only takes a 2" X 2" passport photo which seems to be the standard size here. I had to take my photo in 2" X 2" and then cut it myself which was a little hassle.
This time, i thought i would ask people here on this forum what they did for their photos.

I applied via Buffalo. I did the same for my application and PPR - got my 2x2 and cut them myself. Wasn't perfect but it worked.

Same here. Applied via Buffalo. Got transferred to NYC. Didn't even notice the picture size when I first applied, so sent 2x2. Got PPR and noticed the different size requirements. Had several photos taken and then cut it. Wasn't perfect. Eventually went to some photo studio that allegedly did the Canadian size. Only to find out he just did the same exact thing: CUT IT... and he charged 2ce the amount for that... oh well...

Whenever I have needed photos for immigration, I have printed out the photo instruction sheet and taken it to the photographer. In old country, it was just a small passport photo place that I went to and they just put the picture on a cutting board thing and cut it about to whatever size I needed. I don't think they charged extra for it either. When I have been getting photos done here in Canada, I did have one instance where a PR photo was denied because they said my face was too big in it, I couldn't even see it but I had it re-done anyway. When I went to get it re-done, the place could not get it right. The kept making it the same, eventually I demanded my money back and went to another place. The requirements for PR are different than for Canadian passport so if you are in Canada, they will automatically do the passport one unless you tell them otherwise.

That's exactly the problem. it is not just about the incorrect size of the photo, it is the head dimensions as well. Anyways, thanks for the answers. Looks like i am on my way to cut our photos again. or may be i can take our pics myself and print that off at walmart.
