Hello,

I am currently a master student in US. I just got offers from some universities in Canada to pursue my PhD there. They give stipend and waive tuition & fees. My question is, is it possible to submit this offer as an arranged employment or at least submit this offer to strengthen my case (in case I do not have enough points).

I got my file no. from Buffalo visa office, if I move to canada, my case will be transferred. Will it be faster? I submitted my full docs the end of September, sofar I only got the file no. and nothing else?

Anybody same situation with me?

Thank you very much

PhD is not considered as arranged employment, because your status will be a student not worker. (I called CIC Before regarding this point)

If you want it to be arranged employment you have to get an offer to work as Research Assitant. (like post-doc or researchers) in this case you will be worker and you are not registered as student.

The real issue is that as a grad student, you will not be considered a "permanent" employee of the university, so it doesn't meet the requirements of arranged employment.

As for the second part of your question - it's hard to say without knowing how you are qualifying. Out of curiosity, under which category did you apply?

After one 1 year as a student in Canada, you would qualify under FSW3 (assuming you have 1 year of skilled employment).
