So I'm planning to apply under the PhD stream of the Skilled Worker immigration program. I understand from reading the forum that PhD stream applicants still need to show the equivalent of one year continuous employment in a skilled labor position (code 0 or skill type A or B) in order to qualify. I have been unable to find much information on CIC's website, so I have a few questions.
1) Does it matter where this work was performed? (I have roughly a year in the business world in America, then two years of TA work, then TA/RA, Editorial Assistant work, Union work, here in Canada).
2) Can I use a combination of different skilled jobs to show my 1970 hours of experience (TA + Editorial work + Board Exec = 1970), or does the experience need to come form a single job (TA needs to equal 1970 by itself)?
3) Does this employment have to be continuous? And if so, what is the definition of continuous?
4) Can my Canadian work experience (TA/RA, Editorial Assistant, Union Executive) work count towards the "Work In Canada" section under adaptability, despite not having a work permit (it's all within the university)?
What CIC document would have the answers to these questions?
