HI Guys,

I am quite new here and would like some clarifications on the process.

I intend to apply for the FSW program under the mechanical engineer job class. However I have some questions with respect to the eligibilty requirements.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters degree in Process Engineering and I have just completed my 3+ years PhD in Germany on an engineering (mechanics) related topic. I receive salary and work 40 full time hours according to my employment contract.

Is it ok to leave out my PhD and consider the years as work experience, just applying with Msc as highest qualification? Using my PhD would mean I have less than I year experience so I will not qualify - if my PhD period is not considered as work experience?

Thanks for clarifying this for me.

How are you going to explain your presence in Germany? Or your paychecks from a university? If you tell them it was for PhD study, they'll ask to see the transcript; if you show them the transcript, they'll see that you graduated; if you graduated, they'll wonder why you haven't mentioned it on the application.

Basically, in my opinion, you should go and get some work experience. You need a year . . .
