Pharmacy Technician Diploma eligibility for PR

Hello Guys,

I am planning to study Pharmacy Technician 2 year diploma from Canada. Does this diploma makes me eligible for PR, if I work as a Pharmacy Technician for 1 year after completing this program?

This is very urgent. I would appreciate if someone could give me valuable suggestions regarding my question.

The NOC for Pharmacy Technician is 3219, which is classified as skilled (yes, it qualifies).

You should know that Pharmacy Technician is a regulated occupation in most provinces (including Alberta) - which means that, after you graduate, you must pass an examination and become licensed in the province in which you intend to work BEFORE you can work under that title.

hi guys. i applied for a lmo last week under pharm tech then i got a letter today from service canada that they cannot process it under noc 3219 and its still under noc c pilot project low skilled because they are still using the noc 2006 system. just letting you know guys that
they have not updated their system using noc 2011

Oh, that is bizarre. But that is what is currently posted on the HRSDC website.

oh, i see...that link clarifies that they will still use the noc 2006 for now. so its right that pharm tech is still under noc 2006which is low skilled..thats what they told me too. it says in the letter its not under skill o a and b and is under c or d, pilot project that requires lower formal training, etc...

Pharmacy techs do many tasks that pharmacists do except, they can not write/suggest prescriptions. So it's strange that it's classified as "unskilled".
