HI..
anyone here is a pharmacist by profession? can enlighten me how am i now going to be an immigrant in canada..? i have been very desperate :'( to go to canada, gained experience here in singapore yet as a pharmacy technician instead. now when im ready to go canada and apply :-\, pharmacist was slashed out in the list.. anyone here can advice me, like what are my options?? im currently working as a pharm tech in singapore. and a 2yr hospital experience as a pharmacist in philippines.. haist im totally very desperate.. help.. :'( :'(

Currently Pharmacist is not listed for Immigration 2013. May be in future u can apply if there is a hope.
If u are too desperate u should find a arranged job visa OR a visit visa in case anybody can sponsor you.

Wish u best of luck.

FSW is not applicable, but you may wish to try the Provincial nomination method (PNP).

Australia is also an option for immigration, check their program too

Hi there!
I just wanted to tell you that chances for pharmacist to be put again on the list is minimal. I am pharmacist as well, but I came to Canada because my husband is Canadian and we decided to live here. First of all, you have to pass 3 big exams to become a licensed pharmacist in Canada. I did that last year, but it is very hard. I studied hard a whole year, did nothing but study.
If you want to find out more about those exams, information is here...
http://www.pebc.ca/index.php/ci_id/4069/la_id/1.htm

Second, it is hard to find a job, even with the licence. There is a lot of pharmacists, and not so many jobs. In BC, in 3 years from now, there will be 300 students graduating from UBC each year, instead of 120. I don't want to ruin all your hopes, chances are really really slim...

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I passed all 3 exams as well as English and Jurisprudence. I'm just waiting now to get my PR through Family Sponsorship (my husband is Canadian) so I can do the internship and start looking for job. In BC it is not hard to find internship since it is not paid.

Good luck with your papers, hope you'll find a way to come to Canada

Hi 2calgary,

sorry, but I'm not familiar with that program... My goal was just to get a licence here in Canada.

Re: Pharmacist profession not in the FSW

THANK YOU everyone for the info.. Does anyone know atty. David Cohen?? He process immigration for Canada. Is he reliable?? My resort could be him or i go canada with a tourist visa and from there i get work permit
(i men i apply on my own work permit), that is for me to be able to look for a job there.. Anyone here know about the issue??? A friend told me we can do this.. Is it really?? She read it from the cic.ca page.. Anybody???
Thank you..this thread really help a lot!! :) ;)

You can't apply for a work permit without a job.

Yes - you can come as a tourist to Canada and you can try finding a job. However until you have a job offer from a Canadian employer and that employer has obtain an approved Labour Market Opinion - you won't qualify to apply for a work permit.
