If someone can clarify this qs will be much appreciated;

" I had applied for the post grad work permit in the first wk of June and my current status will be expiring by the end of July, if i dont get my work permit by then do i have to quit my current job or what are my options ?" Thanks

what is your visa status right now? study permit? do you have a off-campus work permit? anyways, you already applied for PGWP so you should be ok.

I have an off campus work permit as well as study permit but both will expire by July end, I am just concerned about if I can still work after that if I dont get PGWP by then.

i guess you are in implied status
it is obtained when foreign workers are continuing in their current positions and have applied for the extension of their work permit prior to their current permit expiring.

yes you can continue to work as a off campus work permit.

I see, but the thing is my off campus permit will be expired as well by that time and also SIN, if anyone can clarify this , Thanks

Don't know about SIN. You can go talk to Service Canada about that. My SIN will expire in July so I got to find out. We will see. Hope somebody answer this question.

Here ya go -
http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/sin/employers/expiry.shtml

If a temporary resident applies for renewal of their work or study permit and their permit expires before a decision is made, paragraph 186(u) and section 189 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation provides them the right to continue working or studying under the same conditions, pending a determination of their application for renewal, as long as they remain in Canada. This is referred as "implied status". The temporary foreign worker will have implied status until a decision is rendered by CIC.

In this case, a SIN card bearing a new expiry date will only be issued once CIC has rendered a decision. In the interim, where "implied status" is confirmed, the expired SIN may continue to be used. To obtain a replacement SIN card with a new expiry date, the temporary foreign worker must apply and present a valid immigration document issued by CIC.

Thanks Jes!!! really appreciated
