Hello everyone.

Is there a way of changing a 1 year PGWP into a regular WP with a LMIA exempt job (International agreement). I want to qualify for CEC (1 year of canadian work experience) but since my PGWP is only for 1 year i might only get 10 o 9 months of work experience before my permit expires. Thankfully my country have a free trade agreement with canada that qualify me for a LMIA expemtion on NOC A jobs. I'm looking to convince my employer to sponsor me for a LMIA exempt work permit. Is this possible??

Thanks!

If the job actually qualifies under the FTA and the proper process is followed by the employer to offer the job, you can apply.

Thanks, your reply is really helpful.
By any chance do you know the fee amount the employer has to pay and the time this whole process takes?? In other words, is it a stressful, time consuming and expensive process to make as an employer or not nearly as difficult as if i needed a LMIA for the job.

I'm not familiar with the costs. It should not take as long as an LMIA.
