Hi, my PGWP will be expired in 6 months. I'm now an employee in BC. Can I extend my work permit, I mean change my PGWP to another kind of work permit?
I want to apply for PR after finishing one year of work, but it takes more time than my PGWP allows me to stay in Canada.

You can extend if your employer files for a LMIA, and then you apply for closed work permit. Are you eligible now for a BC PNP program with employer support?

Thanks for the reply. Because I graduated here in BC and I have an open work permit, I didn't need to be employed through an LMIA. I'd be eligible for a BC PNP if my employer supported me, but they didn't fill out the forms. They just give me a detailed job offer letter.

So ask them to support your nomination. Or find an employer who will. Assume you need employer support for BC PNP stream.

my question wasn't about BC PNP, it was about extending a work permit. As for PR, I'll apply it through Canadian Work Experience after I finish one year of working here.

To extend your permit, you need a) approved LMIA with closed work permit or b) have received ITA, applied for PR, have AOR and then apply for BOWP. What country are your from?
