PGWP still passport expiry?

Hey I will go to canada this year in Sept and then I will do another 8-12 months course so basically I will finish study by August 2019. And my passport expires June 2021. So that means I will get PGWP only still june 2021

Maybe you should take your time and explain your circumstance so anyone can help.
Generally if you complete a 2 year study program or more than 2 years, you get 3 years PGWP. Anything between 8month to less that 24 month, you can get between 1 to 2 years PGWP. The officer decides in this case. Your program must be from a designated institution.

Umm I understand that, but say my passport expires and I renew it can I get the pgwp for the remaining period?

Or then there is no way I can even apply for PR

Yes. You pgwp expires when your passport expires. You will need to apply for extending it with an explanation letter to explain your situation.
