Hii there!!! I studied a two year diploma starting from jan 2023 upto dec 2024. I had my last two semesters part-time(may 2024 and sept 2024). Basically i failed two courses (9 credits) in jan 2024 intake. Retook them in may 2024 failed one of them again and later on finished them on dec 2024. Had my study permit till dec 2025. So valid study permit, applied for pgwp on 7 jan 2025 with 7.5 ielts score. Hearing the news now-a-days, i am afraid that i would get a refusal. Did anyone of you have had any similar experiences?

Most on here are refused for 1 part time semester and you have 2. Get doctor’s notes/letters from the school explaining why you failed and had 2 part times. The semesters were not back to back though. What did you do during the summer months?

I retook both courses in summer but failed in one of them again...

Which i completed in the fall 2024 term.
So you had 2 part time semesters and they were not your last semester so not eligible for a PGWP. You need to send a very thorough explanation on why you failed along with letter from doctor/employer/school.

I mean in each of the semesters i took on the full available course load, i didnt choose to have a part time at any point. And also summer term was supposed to be the last one but unfortunately i failed one of the courses again them and retook them in fall that was my final term. Would that be considered?

You said your last two semesters were part time. So you can only be part time the last semester.

Hi, to answer you question; No you will not be refused. You were full time in winter, then failed and had to be part time in summer, failed and had to be part time in fall which was your last semester. Summer would be considered a scheduled break for you in that case
