PGWP pending, travel and come back to canada just before student visa expires?

Hi Folks,

I have recently completed my MBA In September 2015 and have applied for PGWP (Post Graduate Work Permit) in October 2015 last week. My Student Visa S1 is valid upto March 20th 2016. I am planning to travel to my home contry (India) in Feb last week for my marriage and planning to return by March 10th.

Will this create any problem while returning back to Canada as my Visa expires on March 30th 2016. Do you suggest I apply for TRV (temporary resident visa).

Kindly help at the earliest.

Please don't bump your post after 4 minutes - this is very rude behaviour. If you expect answers that quickly - hire an immigration lawyer or consultant. If you want free advice for this forum, be prepared to wait for someone to reply.

You will need a valid TRV to return to Canada.

Technically you can travel with your valid TRV. I too had the same situation where I return back to Canada with last 4 days of my visa expiry. But in Indian immigration they gave me a tough time to explain.
I hope you should get your PGWP approved before your travel so that you can apply for TRV from India.
