Two good friends of mine currently in Canada will be pursuing a PGWP. The issue stems from her spouses current open work permit. It is set to expire this June 4, 2022. This is 1 month before she graduates. I am trying to help them, but the cic website is a tad confusing. My understanding is that he can extend is OWP even though she is still a student? If he can't extend then he will have to do a change of conditions into a visitor visa, is this correct? If he applies for the OWP extension, then his spouse will have to explain in her application that he already applied to extend because she will be graduating and applying to a PGWP?
Any assistance or advise is much appreciated.
