Hey guys, just wanted to check if anyone have similar case.

My wife have applied to PGWP extension last January and currently waiting for the approval. Our initial permits (study and open work) will expire this March. I have a few questions below.

1. Can I apply to extend my OWP while her PGWP is still in process? I read somewhere that the receipt email from IRCC should be enough but would like to confirm if it is.
2. If yes, can I continue to work while my OWP is still in process as an implied/maintained status? This is a bit tough because the earliest we can provide 3 payslips is by March 15th so we have to apply 15 days before my current work permit expires.
3. Wife's work is in between NOC B and NOC C so there might be a chance to be refused. Any advise how we can ensure it will be considered as NOC B?
4. I am currently waiting for my current employer to provide me with full time job contract (currently on contract role) so I can apply for OINP. Is it ok to submit an OINP application while on implied status?

Many thanks!

1. Yes, as long as she is working in a NOC A, B or 0 job and can provide three payslips.
2. Yes, you can apply under implied status once you submit your extension.
3. There is no way to ensure this. Your spouse's job duties should match most of the NOC B job duties and her pay should also align to the NOC B wage.
4. I don't know.

Hi @scylla, thank you for your response on this.

In case they rejected/refuse my OWP extension if they decide that my PGWP's NOC is C, will the experience count towards CEC/FSW 1 year Canadian experience requirement? Or can I still use the experience gained during implied status towards it?
