Greetings everyone. I appreciate the effort put in this community to support each other.

I am on a valid PGWP and was working with the same company for the past two and a half year.

The company was able to obtain LMIA back in March for the job offer I received in January as a permanent promotion.

I then received an ITA as per the LMIA document update in June, and I was able to submit the application this July.

The question:

- The LMIA has assessment expiry date in September. As per CIC page (Express Entry: Creating an Express Entry profile and requirements for entering the pool), section "LMIA requirements for temporary foreign workers applying for Express Entry", it does not state whether I require to ask my employer to apply for another LMIA after the current expires as my work permit is LMIA-exempt type of permit.

Your insight is appreciated.

As long as the LMIA was valid at the time of your application submission then it's fine. My husband was in the same situation - WP was LMIA exempt, LMIA obtained by company was only for PR application, application submitted Dec 2015, LMIA expired Jan 2016, PPR received May 2016.

Hope this helps.

Right on. Thank you for the reply.

Was your (if any) application has anything to do with your husband's?

I'm curious if a spouse status could be a different situation than mine!

To clarify, I was able to receive an ITA thanks to the LMIA obtained by the employer.

My name was not written on the document. But it included the instructions to apply before the assessment expiry date to a work permit and/or permanent resendincy.
