PGWP extension & flag polling

guys so my frnd needs to travel back home asap n she cant wait a month for her pgwp extension to be processed if she does it online, she called cic n the agent sd she can try n gave very vague information abt getting the extension at the Canada-US border, i read on this forum a few ppl have done it in the past but it looks like it depends on the officer mostly. my frnd already has a PGWP until july 2017 but she wont be back before july for sure for her trip so she has to get the extension n trv before she leaves canada. the reason y she didnt get the full 3 yrs is bcz at the time she applied she only got the pgwp until her passport expiry which was july 2017 at that time she has a new 10 yr passport now , she was suppose to get the pgwp until dec 2018 , she is in ottawa so she plans on going to the prescott CBSA thats abt an hour drive ..even though she is not from visa exempt country she has multiple entry visa until july 2017 already n i read the rule is if u r coming back from US to Canada u dont require a visa for visa required countries, can any one suggest or advise on this process if they have done it or knw some one who has gone thru this step.

If you are travelling to usa by road and back to canada yes you do not need a trv. you can get work permit at the border, but you need to take supporting proofs that she is entitled for 3 years work permit and she was issued only until her old passport validity date.

ok thanks now can she jst go to the cbsa n explain them all of this or she has to go to the us side first n then come back to get the work permit extension
