My PGWP is expiring in May.My CEC file is under process...medicals are done.My company has denied to give me an LMO. My agent says I can request a letter from my employer saying that I am a full time employee with them and they want me to continue working with them (which is just a piece of letter ).I can then send this letter and my medical request from CEC and apply for WP extension close to the expiry of my PGWP.This will give me an implied status and I can work after my PGWP expires, in short I can buy time and still work.As it will take a couple of months for the CPC,Vegreville office to reply me ......by that time I might get passport request from Buffalo for CEC.My question is:

1) Should I go ahead and do as he says???
2) I have read at some places that we cannot work post expiry of PGWP unless we have an LMO .Is that true???(I had received 3 years of PGWP which expires in May)
3) Will I be under implied status as I am applying before the expiry of my PGWP???

1. Bad advice as CIC will no longer process work permits without the LMO and since PGWP is not extenable, there is no implied status.

As your PGWP is valid for 3 years (the maximum), you cannot extend it when it expires. You will have to apply for a new work permit with your employer. I'm not sure why your company won't give you a LMO, all they have to do is just submit an application. You won't have implied status UNLESS you have submitted a work permit application with proof that your employer has applied for a LMO.

Try speaking with your manager and see if he/she can talk to HR in regards to the LMO.

Good luck

You cannot extend your PGWP and the only other way to get a work permit it though the LMO

Can i ask a question?
are you requested to go personally to Buffalo in the us or you just need to send them by mail?
because someday i might be in your position. since obtaining a us visa is very difficult and you need to go to your home country to apply for it.
Thanks i hope someone can answer my question
