Hello!
My PGWP expires January 25, 2025. Due to Canada Post delays and to be entirely honest with ourselves; general lack of planning and knowledge, we have filled out parts of the inland spousal sponsorship but have not gathered all the necessary documents and I am currently awaiting a Canada Post delivery from abroad for one of them.
My wife and I have lived together since I set foot in Canada in 2021. I have the pleasure of calling her my wife as of this year!
Is there any way to maintain the work status at such short notice, prior to submitting the sponsorship? I understand if we get the sponsorship done with an OWP while I am in status as a worker it will stay maintained but this is not going to be possible.
If not, I have 6 months of living expenses saved, would it be better to immediately change status to visitor and finalize and submit the inland sponsorship this coming month and hope I get the OWP prior to funds running out or would it be better to change to visitor status, gather a few belongings and going back to my home country in Europe to work and help sustain us and do an outland application and then come back over? What would that timeline usually look like for someone from Denmark?
I am trying to gauge whether it is feasible staying as a visitor with my Canadian spouse so we are not separated when it comes to processing times vis a vis funds lasting for me being a visitor until the OWP comes through?
