PGWP Application Submitted Yesterday - Few Questions

Hello everyone,

I submitted my PGWP application right after completing my Masters program this month. I applied as soon as I received my official transcript and Verification of Program Completion (VPC) letter.

A few things I’d like to confirm with others who’ve applied recently:

1. IMM5257 form - I didn’t upload IMM5257 (Schedule 1) since it’s for TRV applications and was listed as optional. I read that adding it could create confusion for PGWP, so I skipped it. Hoping that’s the right call.
2. Current status - Right now, I only see submission confirmation and the file shows “Background check in progress” + “Eligibility not started.” Is that normal for the early stage?
3. Processing times - IRCC posts up to 6 months, but I’ve heard PGWPs are sometimes done in 2-4 months. What timelines are you guys seeing these days?
