Hello,

I have a question and I would really appreciate some guidance. Is there anyone here that was a student, child or children came to visit and was given a visitor's record that allowed them to attend school? My daughter is here on a VR and I am about to apply for my PGWP however I am not sure if I should add her to it or just apply for myself and then get her Visitor's record extended after getting the PGWP. My other question would be what if I do it that way and not get the PGWP before her current document expires?

I hope my question is clear.

Thanks for the help in advance

Depends on the age of the children, you might need apply Study permits for them if they attend elementary school and higher. The plus side is , once you obtain your PGWP, then children will be entitled to free tuition offered by public schools.

This is incorrect. Primary, middle and high school should be “free” as a taxpayer/student while on studies or PGWP with a TRV. Some visa officers decide you need to apply for study permits randomly. For any post secondary institution children will need a study permit and will need to pay international fees until they receive PR.
