My friend and I took the same course, started on the same day, graduated on the same day. However she got a Post Graduation Work Permit and hers is valid for a year, while mine is only valid for 9 months. Why would this be?
Background: She is Russian and I am American, we're both females with a BA degree from our respective countries.

Also, how easy is it to extend these permits? I'm afraid that jobs won't hire me knowing that they'll have less than a year with me...
I'm hoping to move to Canada permanently and live with my quebecois boyfriend of 3 years, so it's a shame they couldn't give me more time in the country to strengthen my PR application.

How long were your studies? What was the course duration?

When does your passport expire?
