Title says it all.
2019 PGP applicant, basically been waiting for DM since March 2021.
PA medical is gonna expire March 2022, and dependent July 2022.
Have checked ATIP and talked to MP, message we got was that everything is passed (eligibility, medical, security, etc), waiting for officer final review.
How hard is it for an officer to update the case to DM? My parents are in their 80s, ling on their own, how many more years do they have? I can never understand the way IRCC does business.
Anyways, as a resolution, I'm thinking apply a visitor visa for them (heard it only takes 1 month if got lucky), bring them over (complex given current COVID situation), and hope during their 6 month stay, they stay healthy (no medical costs) and IRCC can finalize the application since they will be in Canada.
And if 6 months is up but still no DM, can I apply for extension to keep them here longer?
I'm trying to avoid super visa route because of the insurance costs are a bit over budget for my family and my brothers will not help as if it wasn't for their parents.
How realistic is this? Any thoughts and suggestions are welcome
