We have a Parents & Grandparents 10 year Visa as we are living in Canada can we change it to
Temporary Resident ?
This was just a thought as this is our home now and all our family are here, we've tried for 2 years now to get invited for Permanent Residency but not been successful. We just wondered if it could be changed only at the moment we have paid a little over $13000 for private Health insurance which we can only use if it was an emergency, and it is starting to get a little expensive.
Our first year was $6000 which we never used, now this year $7000 ( as we are older each year) but you don't get any rebate as such for using it, any suggestions out there please.

Think you mean you have a supervisa. Sure you can apply for a TRV. TRV are based on your parents' financial position and not yours. If they have enough resources and ties to their home country they can apply. Yes insurance is expensive but if they have a health emergency can you afford to pay for their care which would be much more? Many visitors buy travel medical insurance on a TRV. Your parents could also visit for a shorter amount of time or skip their visit this year.

not sure what you mean by change to Temporary Resident...
Your parents visiting for 2 years is already Temporary Resident... they are not PR.

Speaking of medical insurance, you do not need full 2 years of coverage to stay here for 2 years.
Even if you bought 2 years, doesn't mean they'll get 2 years of stay when they enter Canada.
Every time my in-laws visited Canada with supervisa, airport immigration officer would only grant them 6months of stay, even with supervis and health insurance.
So we stopped buying insurance after that. Now they come with no insurance. get 6 months stamp at the airport as visitor.
Then we apply for extension. CIC does not ask us to buy 2 years of insurance.
Of course you are taking a risk with no insurance, but considering this insurance is only usable in serious illness, I find it pretty useless.
You can also try buying insurance with $1000 deductible, to lower the price, since you are unlikely to make any claims.
