PGP Sponsorship Process

Hi all,
pls. advice, how long it take from receiving Sponsorship approval email to medical, I received an email saying,

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative has been forwarded to the visa office in CPC-Ottawa"

I don't know why they moved the file to Ottawa not to parent home country?

Within a few months you should expect medical exam request.

Can you please share your timeline? When did you apply for parent sponsorship?
