PGP 2021 || Can parents travel to Canada/ Stay in Canada untill decision made?

Hi All,

I got invited to PGP 2021, and shall be submitting the application in October. (I am a PR, applied for Citizenship - awaiting Oath ceremony. )

I was planning to bring my parents to Canada from October 2021 until September 2022. (They have TRV and have earlier received 6 month extension once. They also have US visa, so we can fly to/back from US if really required)

1. Are parents allowed to travel to Canada, and stay here on TRV if PGP application submitted/in process.
2. Do parents need to be in their country of residence (India) for PCC, Biometrics and Medical exam?
3. What is the process for applying Indian PCC from Canada?
3. They stayed in Canada for a year (Feb 2019 to Feb 2020). For Canadian PCC - if they are in India, what is the process?

Would like to hear experiences if someone has had success in getting Indian PCC, Biometrics, Medical exam etc. while their parents were in Canada.

1. They can try to visit but if they only have a TRV and if their PGP application takes closer to 24 months there are no guarantees they will be able to visit until then. Going to the US to try to “reset” their TRV clock does not guarantee that they’ll be able to enter for another 6 months. They remain visitors in Canada and are supposed to be spending time abroad and especially in their home country to reestablish ties.
2. No they can do this from other countries but PCC can be hard to opbtain from abroad in some countries.
