I've been in Canada for 10 years and I missed my deadline to renew my work permit for the first time when I already applied for PR through PNP. I didn't notice I renew my work permit after expiration and kept working until IRCC brought that to my attention through a PFL. I really thought it would expired as my nomination letter expired but that wasn't the case. I submitted a response explaining why I got dates mixed up but I haven't heard back from them yet and I'm afraid they might reject my PR application.. I was so close and I messed up at the end of the process... I am still waiting for an answer about my work permit renewal and its been 4 months.. my question is, if I go home and I travel back with my nomination letter, job offer, active eTA, etc will they give me a work permit at the border on my way back?

How long after the work permit expiry did you apply to extend? I assume you applied for restoration as well?

I applied 10 days after it expired but I didn't know at that time it was expired. I had most of my documents already done for a while before submitting my application. I sent them an online request not long ago if I could also checked the pertinent restoration option on the document and pay the fee but I'm still waiting

When did you contact them about restoration? How long exactly after the work permit expired?

I would be hesitant to leave Canada without first consulting a lawyer.

So more than 90 days after your work permit expired?

It sounds like you applied for restoration too late. Consult with an immigration lawyer.
