Petition for creating a new pool for Parents/Grandparents Sponsorship program

It has been 3 years that only Canadians who registered in 2020's pool can apply to sponsor their parents. There are plenty of Canadians/permanent residents who did not register to be in that pool. There could be plenty of reasons, and they might be in immense need in comparison to people who are in that pool to have their family in Canada.
I believe this is not fair that only people who have registered in 2020 have a chance to sponsor their parents.
So I am planning to create a petition and request a change. I would like to know people's comments about this.

Thank you,

It was done to give priority for those who had been waiting the longest. Getting PGP was never based on who needs it the most and parent sponsorship is never guaranteed. It’s unclear whether IRCC will start a new pool or not next year but there is clearly movement towards prioritizing those who have been waiting the longest since many have applied for 3-5+ years without being selected and have met LICO for 3 years before that to qualify.

Enough though this was not my question I really appreciate the explanation because I have secretly wondered the thought process behind that decision but after your explanation it makes so much more sense.
Thanks

I agree and request for new pool.
Parent sponsorship program is taking the application from 2020 pool and continuing 2021, 2022, and now the same in 2023.

It is unreasonable and not appreciated to those who were not able to submit interest form in 2020.

Also, meeting sponsor’s LICO requirement is one scenario. I have met the requirement for long years and have been applying since 2018, somehow I missed to apply interest in 2020. Who knew it will be running for few years with that same pool.

Positive the Government will get right on that , considering the mess the immigration department, is currently in .
The Government already modified the Super Visa program .

It was unfortunate that you didn’t apply in 2020 but it isn’t the government’s fault. The government seems to be attempting to prioritize those who have been applying the longest because many were waiting 10+ years to get selected while some would get selected after a year. Given the large volume of applicants for limited spots there will likely be attempts to prioritize those who have qualified the longest or been in Canada the longest going forward.

Then it will be more logical to create a combined pool of 2020 and earlier years. People who applied in those earlier years but did not receive ITA should have more rights than 2020 pool. All of a sudden.stick with 2020 pool and running for few years without pre-acknowledgement…

It's quite absurd that IRCC took too many interests from the people in 2020 even though they only had limited numbers of actual spots available. According to data presented by IRCC website there are still 108,000 interests in that same pool that would probably take 4 to 5 more years to finish with. Question I have is if this was meant to be a lottery system then why not only let fixed numbers of interests so pool stays open and let every one a chance to try their luck. I have also attached the website link for everyone to see. This to me doesn't make sense at all.

Doesn’t make sense that people are still beating this dead horse

Let it go

Before anyone starts posting anything about the PGP program, please post the link from the Government showing you were guaranteed to bring whomever (dad, mom) after you immigrated .

* It’s absurd that the Government still has this program when SIX MILLION CANADIANS do NOT have access to a GP

That’s absurd
