Hello,
I just wanted to start this thread as I am looking for any sponsorship (spouse) experiences anyone anyone has had with Canadian Embassy in Peru.
I am a Canadian citizen, and I am waiting as well for my wife who is Peruvian. We got married last July 2012 - sent Sponsorship and PR application for my wife in August 2012 - received the approval of sponsorship eligibility Nov. 1st, 2012. CIC advised they will send our papers now to Peru (in November, 2012) and it would take a fews days to a week.
Anyway, this wasn't the case. On-line it shows the Embassy in Peru received (or opened) our papers in Lima in Jan. 2013 (although it was sent to them from Mississauga on November 1st, 2012??). All medicals and police clearances were good and obviously provided from the onset. The 2nd fee was paid in January 2013, and proof was couriered to the Embassy in Peru in January as well.
Anyway, we are still waiting for call or something from the Embassy in Lima for my wife. In the meantime, I have travelled 2 times, going on 3 times, to Lima since Jan 2013.... It is certainly difficult and expensive that we to wait without any word, although they have noted on-line that they received our papers in Peru in Jan 2013. I read this means they may have started working on it, however, I its been over six months now and its the same thing: that they received it (in Peru) Jan 22, 2013.
Anyway, my question is if anyone out there has had some recent experience with Peru/Canadian Embassy as to time frames - please post it here as I want to see what the average is.... The postings I have read are older, and there are some newer from 2012 and 2013 but with unbelievable stories stating someone got the approval in a few weeks from Peru, which is either very VERY lucky, a fluke, or a lie.
I'm interested on hearing from people these experiences in Peru (Canadian Embassy) as to time frames??
Thank you.
