You should apply for oci. This will give you multiple visa enteries and is like a passport. PIO is generally given to non Indian born person who is either married to an Indian or is his/ her child.

This is what I have understood. My friend who is Canadian born to Indian born Canadian parents holds pio. But his parents who are Indian born can get oci.

Any other member can you confirm to my understanding?

Not sure what the exact difference between OCI & PIO. One thing I am sure & heard many times that OCI is much stronger document compare to PIO. Check Indian Embassy website.

canucksrig, I am Indian Citizen ( My Canada Citizenship In process ), My wife is Indian born Canadian citizen & My daughter born in Canada. Both my wife and Daughter are holding OCI, So OICI can be received by Canadian born to Indian born Canadian Parents.
