Hi, I got ITA last week under CEC category. I had showed Indian work experience of 2 years, when I had applied for student visa application for Canada. In express entry profile, I have not claimed any points for this work and did not mention this work in my EE profile. The only work experience I mentioned in my EE profile is my one year experience in Canada.

Now, post ITA, while filling details under personal history, do I need to mention that Indian work experience also ? Or should I only state 'unemployed' for that period of time as I did not claim points for this work ?

You can mention your previous work experience in the Personal history section as employment if you are not claiming points for it. I have done the same (no student visa situation though) and seen a lot people have done it too. I also added an LOE saying that I added my employment in personal history for so and so period since I was not claiming points plus no reference letters are available.

Thank you so much....so you did not claim points for this experience & also did not mention this experience in EE profile pre-ITA, correct ?

Hi, also from 2014 to 2015 , I was preparing for government jobs entrance exams in India. Should I mention "unemployed" for that period of time or list it under "educational activity" ?

I think that fits in as 'unemployed' and not educational activity since the entrance preps are not a real educational activity under a university or a college. If I were you, I would call it unemployment activity, unless I find some real life experience from someone in google in the other direction.
