Hello guys,

I am sponsoring my husband from outside of canada and we are filling the IMM5669e form.

1) In the personal history question they ask for all the countries he had been to in the past ten years. We mentioned all te countries were he wroked and studied but de we have to mention the ones that he visited as a tourist. He did travel a lot and this will make our list very long.

2) they also ask for the addresses. One of the countries he lived in (Yemen) doesn't have a postal code and the form doesn't allow us to type N/A so we left it blank. He also doesn't remember the street address for one of his addresses we also left it blank. We intend to attach an explanation letter for both blanks. Would that be aceptable?

3) Also, What do we write for the status of a person who lived in a country where he had a travel document. For example, someone living in Lebanon because they gave him a travel document but he is also not a refugee. Do we just say a permenant resident?

Thank you

1.) You are required to fill the activities he was doing around the time not necessarily to mention the countries that he visited briefly as a tourist.

Refer.....Spousal Sponsorship Guide......IMM5669.....Personal Details....Question 6
Give details of your personal history since the age of 18, or the past 10 years, whichever is most recent.

Start with the most recent information. Under “Job/Activity, Title, Position”, write your occupation or job title if you were working.

Important: Be specific when you are describing your job/occupation or other activities. For example, an entry of “working,” “employee,” or “employed” for “job/activity” are not acceptable.

If you were not working, give information about what you were doing (for example: unemployed, studying, travelling, retired, in detention, etc.). If you were outside your country of nationality, write your status in that country.

2.) Explanation letter for both blanks should be okay

3.) Review the travel document.....the travel document should indicate your immigration status in that country (indicate one of the following)......if not sure of status fill "Other" and explain.
  • Citizen
  • Permanent resident
  • Visitor
  • Worker
  • Student
  • Other
  • Protected Person
  • Refugee Claimant
  • Foreign National
