Hi all, newbie.... have yet to submit Interest to Sponsor form. I would like to create this thread for people to share their experience with sponsorship parents, for people who are successful and still trying. It is hard to get a real picture since everyone has a different scenario. If you can share, please let me know how many tries it took you to get invited?

Without knowing whether there will be changes to the program previous experience will likely not be relevant. In general parent sponsorship is not guaranteed. Spots available far exceeds amount desired. Most people do not get selected after 3 years it often take many years to get selected after you meet
ICO for 3 years at least during the period where their was a lottery. Before the lottery the wait time could be 10 years. Processing times have increased dramatically and is 2-3 years at the moment.
thank you for the reply....so even if lottery opens in 2022....and I qualify for LICO....still no guarantees... I bet most people don't get selected after first try...so I have to prepare for a long haul
I have a friend who got selected first try but abandoned the spot. What a waste!
are you guys talking about the lottery year, or first served first come?
It took about 1.5 year for PPR/COPR. It was a straight forward application with only PA (no dependent/spouse).
But that was before the COVID slow down.
I see....ok so in 2022 I would expect (if form opens) that the processing times might be longer...
Oh! And I am counting the time from the application being submitted not from the time we entered the interest to sponsor form before the lottery.
oh i mean.... a scenario that i enter in 2022 get lucky and get selected and then the whole ordeal takes about 2 years to complete.....
true..... that the thing I get... more and more reading about PGP...no one knows anything....nothing is guaranteed....yeah...
