Hi all,
We are a family of 5 granted Temporary Resident Permit (in force from June 17,2015 and expiring June 18,2018). My son has Autism thus we are medically inadmissible. My husband and I have Work Permit, and my 3 kids have Student Permit with the same expiry dates as our TRP. So far we have no other medical or criminal issues. Does anybody here know if we can apply for PR under permit holders before June 18,2018 or do we need to apply for another TRP, WP and SP now so we will not be out of status while starting our PR application?
Thanks in advance.

How are you thinking of applying for PR? If your son is medically inadmissible, this is going to be a barrier to the PR application being approved.

To answer your question, applying for PR doesn't typically give you status in Canada. You would need to apply to extend your current status to remain in Canada legally.

Hi

No, you can't apply until you have resided in Canada for at least 3 years.

We will be 3 years here in Canada as TRP holders by June 18,2018 which is also the expiry date of our TRP, WP/SP. So we need to apply for extension. Thanks for your time.

I don't think you have to leave because your son is autistic, you can get PR God willing.
