I am an immigrant from the United States. I married a Canadian and lived in the USA for 4 years before deciding to come to Canada. I filed in Canada on July 10, 2009.


THE FOLLOWING READS ON MY FILE WHEN CHECKING APPLICATION STATUS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY:

We received your application for permanent residence on July 10, 2009.

We started processing your application on August 7, 2009.

Medical results have been received.

We transferred your application to the Etobicoke office on January 11, 2010. The Etobicoke office may contact you.

As you can see i have been waiting seven months for Approval in Principal and permission to work. It has been a month since the file was sent to Etobicoke. I still have heard nothing from anyone!

Can someone, anyone, help me with a solution or at least an explanation? Please?

As you didn't get first level approval at Vegreville, it appears that there is a problem with either the application or the relationship, so it will was sent to Etobicoke. As it is one of the busiest office, you should be prepared to wait a long time for an interview, up to 2 years.

My file was transferred to etobicoke last week without AIP or OWP. Please would you let me know the status of your application. Have you contacted Etobicoke yet? When are they going to contact you for interview. Should I contact my MP?
