Permanent resident travel document

My wife recently got her PR approved.

We need to travel outside Canada soon and are flying.

I dont know how long it would take for the PR card to arrive.

I believe there is a Permanent resident travel document she can apply.

However, one of the requirements is that you need to be outside Canada which does not make sense at all.

Why would you need a travel document if you are in the country?

You cannot fly back to Canada with your PR confirmation.

How can you fly back to Canada while you are waiting for your PR card in mail?

If you have a us visa, you can fly into the us and use copr to re enter Canada through a land border crossing
