Permanent resident travel document

Hello everyone I m a new permanent resident of canada and haven't got my pr card yet but I m planning to visit india. AM I eligible to apply for prtd from india as someone told me that I can't because only permanent residents who have lost their pr card or have expired pr card are eligible to apply for prtd. Please help need to travel india soon.

Any permanent resident can apply for a PRTD. Whoever told you that you can't has no idea what they are talking about.

Thanks a lot bud. One more question do u know what is the processing time for prtd from india. I m gonna apply from jalandhar and I sent one of my known there and the people over there said they are not sure it can take a month or two or whatever. They can't tell.

They don't post the PRTD processing times. I suggest you start a new thread to see if there has been anyone that has applied for one in India recently.
