I have applied for Permanent Residence in Canada last November 2009 and my consultant told me that I could apply even when my aunt is just on the process of having her Landed Immigrant Status in November 2010. My application is now in the Canadian Embassy for final assessment whether I get denied or have a medical exam (approved). I am still hopeful that they would consider my case but I don't know what will happen. My only question is, if I get denied now because of lack of points since my aunt is not yet a Permanent Resident, will I have a hard time re-applying since I already have a history being denied? My aunt will have her Landed Immigrant status in November 2010 and then next year her Permanent Resident, I am planning on re-applying then so that I would then be really eligible. Thank you. I hope you could help me.

Marfan, u applied relying to a forthcoming/forseeable Aunt's PR status... that was bit of a long shot, wasn't it? R u sure w/out her 5 u do not make it to 67?
Nonetheless, reapplying is not an issue... yes, u can, anytime. If that aunt's 5 is important to u, u may have to wait to ensure u have the proof of relationship & her continued residence in Canada.

I will only have 63 if I don't have my aunt's 5 points. But I will be very eligible february next year. i think even without my aunt's 5 next year i can be eligible because i will have 4 years experience next year. the only problem i am foreseeing is re-applying next year and having a history of being denied. will it affect my re-application, like they would super duper assess my application or place it on not so priority thing... or it doesn't matter even if i have a history of being denied?

See it is very important for her to land otherwise you will not get her points and also she should be living in Canada to make you eligible for those 5 points. If you sure you will fall short of 5 points because of her, then withdraw you file immediately because you will be entitled for a refund now. Apply once she lands and then let her spend 3 - 4 months in Canada and then apply. Let others also comment on it.marfan said:
