hi, I've been leaving in Canada for 5 years, and I initially came here in a study permit status that changed into a refugee status a year later. I passed a hearing and everything and I was allowed to stay in the country with my family who came as refugees. I then was allowed to apply for permanent residence and I got my permanent residence along with my parents September 2012, we are now waiting the required time to apply for our citizenship and continue with the regular process. Before I even became a permanent residence of Canada, I met my Canadian boyfriend, and we've been together for 17 months, from which we live together about a year. I'm now engaged to him since July and we are planning to get married next August (2014). I now have almost 950 days (basic residence) and need to wait more for my citizenship application of course. My dilemma and question to you... is getting married to my Canadian fiancé gonna complicate my process I am in, and my waiting time to apply my citizen? If I get married before I get the 1,095 days to apply for my citizen, is that gonna affect me? would I have to get out the country if I marry him ? or maybe start my citizenship application again and loose all this time waited? or maybe it will speed up my application? I dont know ..... I am afraid of complicating my status in canada because as of right now everything has gone smoothly. What do I do??
