Permanent resident. Child was born in the USA

Hi,

I and my spouse have the permanent resident status in Canada. But right now, we are living and working in the USA. Our daughter was born in the USA and she is an American citizen. In the next year, we have some plans to return to Canada permanently. Can my daughter return to Canada (and live in Canada) with me and my spouse, if she is an American citizen? How long may she be in Canada in case if I start sponsorhip?

Your daughter has a US passport and is visa exempt to Canada as a visitor. If you explain at the border that you intend to sponsor her, most likely she will get 6 months which you can later apply to extend as sponsorship could take longer than that.
