I met a Canadian at an entrepreneurial forum in the US. I'm a bachelor degreed Industrial Engineer and have a patented green building system. The Canadian liked my system. Months later, the couple came to visit me in the States and invited me to visit them in Canada. I drove into Canada last February and passed through border inspection without signing anything or getting any passport stamp or visa. After a few weeks into my visit, we decided on an informal 50-50 business partnership. I have been a consultant ever since, setting up a manufacturing process and hiring five people along with using local engineers and designers. My partners own and are developing property using my patented system. Hundreds of thousands of dollars are being invested to launch my building system.
Along the way, I met a Canadian woman to whom I've been married for two months.
There was a permanent residency application included with the marriage license. I don't know what to do, if anything, but would like to cross border and know I can reenter. I have no children or family that I would coattail. I'm 59.
