Hi and thanks for taking the time to read my post.So my family and I moved to Canada two (2) years ago on a work permit and we are now in the process of renewing it for the second time/final time before apply for PR.I am 18 years old (male) and will be graduating from high school here in Ontario in June/July.I remember reading something a few months back which stated that persons seeking to stay in canada may be eligible to stay permanently in Canada if they have graduated from a recognized institution (school) (post secondary institution) and have at least one year of Canadian Work Experience.Although I am still under my parents and we plan to apply as a family for PR am I considered eligible since I graduated here with a O.S.S.D after two years of schooling and plan to get work experience after renewal of our work permits.

Canada is indeed an awesome country and we just want to get different opinions from people who maybe have passed this stage as we would like to one day become happy Permanent Residence of Canada and call it home.We have followed all the laws of the Canadian Immigration and have been waiting patiently for two (2) years without problem. However we have been through alot of stress with lawyers and roadblocks along the way with Immigration but we are moving up slowly but surely :)

I know it is impossible to tell me what I can expect but what are your opinions maybe from experience?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you get a skilled job and work for one year, then yes.

You would need a study permit to study and your tuition fees would be 2-3 times higher than for a PR. If you can cope with that, you could complete a 2 year course and get a 3 year open work permit after that. That 3 year permit would allow you the time to get a 1 year skilled work experience, apply for PR and get it before the 3 year work permit expires.

On the other hand, you could also get an open work permit right now if one of your parents is a skilled worker in Ontario, see http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2010/ob123.asp

If you are under 22 when your parents apply for PR, your age is locked in as a type A dependent and you don't have to be a full time student to get your immigration under them. However, you can't get married or enter into a common law partnership until after you get your PR because that would lose you your dependent status.
