Hello my friend and welcome to the forum,
You don’t need a lawyer or representative, the best part of getting your pr is that you can do it yourself. The whole thing is straight forward but you will need to spend some times reading, however, if any obstacle, friends in this forum are ready to assist you. You will be amazed how much people know about the whole procedure from A to Z. Any question you have will be answer in a minute and if not just be patient and keep asking the same question somebody will come forward.
1. I will recommend you to visit CIC homepage and click on immigrate section on your left: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp (you have a lot of information and choices to make whether you would like to immigrate to Canada as Skilled workers and professionals, Quebec-selected skilled workers, Canadian Experience Class, Investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed, Provincial nominees or Sponsoring your family, in any case we are here for you)
2. If you decided to go to Quebec please visit: http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/index.html for more information and come back to the forum if you have questions.
3. On the same page (as in #1) under resources you have all the forms and guide you need to start your journey, however, I will suggest that you take a free self-assessment, click on this link: (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assess/Education.asp) to verify you legibility.
4. Make sure that your NOC is within the new 29 NOC list, please see new list here: (http://www.muchmormagazine.com/2010/07/canadian-immigration-a-summary-of-the-changes-to-the-noc-list/) or arrange employment in Canada.
5. Fill out all the questions and submit your application.
Most importantly we are here for you my friend.
Once again welcome to the forum and I wish you good luck.

Under the Skilled Worker category, an application is considered complete if it contains the following:
appropriate application forms, signed and completed;
appropriate Canadian government processing fees;
proof of English and/or French language proficiency;
all information and documentation required for the Canadian Immigration Visa Officer to make a selection decision;

What documents must be included in support of my Application under the Skilled Worker category?
Generally, under the Skilled Worker category, you must submit the following, in support of your application:
identity and civil status documents;
travel documents and passports;
evidence of education training/professional qualifications;
evidence of work experience;
a Statement of English and/or French language ability or the IELTS and/or TEF results;
evidence of Arranged Employment, if applicable;
evidence of points claimed, if any, under the adaptability factor;
police certificates and clearances;
proof of settlement funds.

It is important to note that many Canadian Immigration Visa Offices have their own specific requirements that must be respected in order to avoid having your application returned or delayed.
